The Master of Cybersecurity at Monash University's Faculty of Information Technology develops students’ abilities to design, implement, assess, and manage cybersecurity systems, preparing them for specialist roles protecting data and networks. The program covers the theories and techniques necessary to evaluate and improve cybersecurity infrastructures; adapt and apply new and emerging technologies; and understand the ethical, social, and practical impacts of security measures. Courses include software security, network security, project management, IT research methods, and cyber operations, with either a research thesis or research-oriented industry project as part of the curriculum. Graduates will be equipped for careers in roles such as security systems analyst, systems designer, data security specialist, or security software engineer and may progress to further research or professional certification.
