The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Civil) at the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology, The University of Adelaide, is a 4-year AQF Level 8 undergraduate program. It provides students with essential skills for designing, constructing, and maintaining the physical infrastructure of society, with a strong emphasis on sustainable development and the responsible management of natural resources. The curriculum covers engineering problem-solving, design and analysis using modern computer-based methods, mathematics, and science fundamentals. Students start with a common first year and can later specialise in areas such as Construction Management, Environmental Engineering, Renewable Energy, or Structures and Infrastructure. There is also the option of minors in Defence Systems, Entrepreneurship, or Humanitarian Engineering. The course includes a research project and a compulsory minimum of 8 weeks of approved engineering work placement. The program is accredited by Engineers Australia, and graduates qualify for professional membership.
