The Bachelor of Health and Medical Sciences (Medical Sciences) at the University of Adelaide is a three-year undergraduate program designed to provide foundational and specialist knowledge in health and medical sciences. In the first year, students learn human anatomy, public health fundamentals, and communication skills. The second year covers pathology, physiology, pharmacology, health promotion, and epidemiology, with a major focus chosen in the final year—Medical Sciences—focusing on the functioning of the human body in health and disease and the development of treatments. The program integrates hands-on research experience in cutting-edge facilities and offers opportunities for international study. Graduates are prepared for roles in the medical research and laboratory settings, or for further study in graduate health programs.
