The University Preparatory Program (UPP) at the University of Adelaide is a free one-year pathway program designed for students who do not meet standard Year 12 or equivalent entry requirements. Successful completion of UPP, which comprises 24 units of foundational academic coursework (full-time for one year or part-time over two years), grants eligibility for entry into a range of undergraduate degrees including the Bachelor of Arts. The Bachelor of Arts can then be commenced and is typically completed in three years full-time. UPP students receive access to university facilities and support, and the program is designed to build academic skills, confidence, and subject knowledge required for successful undergraduate study. For the Bachelor of Arts itself, students can major in disciplines such as Creative Writing, Art History and Visual Culture, and others typical of an Arts degree.
