The Master of Architecture II (MArch II) at Harvard Graduate School of Design is a post-professional degree designed for individuals who have already earned a five-year undergraduate professional degree in architecture (or its equivalent). This rigorous two-year program advances students' theoretical, analytical, and design skills. The curriculum is highly customizable, offering option studios, distributional and elective coursework, and by application, the option to undertake an independent design thesis. At least half of the electives must be taken at the GSD, with cross-registration options available at MIT and other Harvard schools. The program is designated as STEM, enabling eligible international students to apply for a 36-month OPT extension after graduation.
