The Master of Architecture I (MArch I) at Harvard Graduate School of Design is a professional NAAB-accredited program designed for students who hold an undergraduate degree in any field other than architecture or with a pre-professional architecture major. The curriculum emphasizes a rigorous foundation in architectural design, history, theory, environmental systems, structures, and technical skills. It involves a series of core studios, required coursework in architectural representation, history, and environmental and structural systems, and culminates with an independent design thesis. The program prepares graduates for professional practice and licensure in architecture. Students may also benefit from the program's STEM designation, allowing F-1 international graduates to apply for an extended OPT period after graduation.
