The Master of Theological Studies (MTS) at Harvard Divinity School is a two-year, full-time graduate program designed for broad academic study of religion. Students may concentrate in one of 19–20 areas of focus, including Jewish Studies. The curriculum draws on more than 200 courses across traditions and disciplines and benefits from Harvard’s extensive library, faculty, and the Boston Theological Interreligious Consortium. The appointment of Professor Shaul Magid, effective July 1, 2025, further expands the school's Jewish Studies faculty and curricular offerings, providing additional mentorship and advanced study opportunities in Modern Jewish Studies. The program emphasizes both depth in the chosen tradition and interdisciplinary engagement, preparing graduates for doctoral study, teaching, nonprofit leadership, and other academic or community professions.
