The Learning Design, Innovation, and Technology (LDIT) program at Harvard Graduate School of Education prepares students to address the most pressing challenges and opportunities in education by leveraging the latest advances in learning science, technology, and pedagogical innovation. Students develop expertise in designing, creating, and evaluating effective learning experiences for K-12 schools, higher education, workplaces, and informal learning environments. The program emphasizes active, collaborative learning—with core training in learning theory, instructional design, curriculum development, assessment, and inclusive practice. Graduates pursue careers as instructional designers, technologists, curriculum developers, digital learning specialists, product designers, and more. The Ed.M. is anchored in three pillars: Foundations (core knowledge), Program specialization (such as LDIT), and Concentrations for deeper knowledge. Students benefit from hands-on projects, peer learning, and professional mentorship, becoming leaders able to drive innovation in educational settings.
