The College of Arts, Media and Design at Northeastern University offers several design-related master's programs. The most directly relevant include: the Master of Science in Experience Design (MS), which is a two-semester-long, practice-oriented program, and the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Experience Design and in Information Design and Data Visualization, each of which requires two years of full-time studio and research work. Programs focus on blending theory, research-driven and project-based practice, preparing graduates for evolving interdisciplinary work in design, technology, business, and research. Students engage in studio work, exhibitions, collaboration, and may benefit from Northeastern’s co-op resources. Graduates are qualified for professional, leadership, or further academic paths in design.
