The Master of Science in Bioengineering at Northeastern University's College of Engineering provides an interdisciplinary curriculum that prepares students to lead in advancing health, medical devices, and therapies. Students gain expertise through core courses and selected concentrations—molecular/cell/tissue engineering, biomechanics, biomedical devices/bioimaging, or systems/synthetic/computational bioengineering—with options for thesis, project, or course-only completion. The program features research opportunities, collaboration with faculty from diverse disciplines, and access to Boston’s rich biomedical ecosystem. Students may also participate in up to 8 months of cooperative education (co-op) for professional experience. Graduates are well-equipped for roles in industry or for further studies (e.g., PhD, medical school).
