The Master of Professional Studies in Informatics at Northeastern University’s College of Professional Studies is designed to prepare students for leadership roles in the creation, implementation, and management of information systems, focusing on how people interact with technology in a data-driven society. The program balances technical and management skills and offers hands-on experience through real-world business projects and interdisciplinary research. Concentrations include information security management, cloud computing, data analytics, and user-centered design, allowing graduates to handle the usability, reliability, security, and privacy of modern information systems. The program is STEM-designated and available in Boston with both online and on-ground formats, providing flexibility for working professionals. From Fall 2026, the academic calendar shifts from quarters to semesters, but this will not impact degree progress for current students. The average duration of study is 15 to 24 months.
