The Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs at Northeastern University's College of Social Sciences and Humanities prepares undergraduate students with academic knowledge, cross-cultural awareness, and skills needed to thrive and lead in a diverse world society, promoting global citizenship and social responsibility. The interdisciplinary curriculum exposes students to a broad array of courses from multiple disciplines while allowing flexibility in course selection. Required components include a core of six foundational courses in areas such as international affairs, political science, economics, anthropology, and history; three regional analysis electives (with specializations such as Latin America, Asia, Middle East, Europe, Africa); three global dynamics courses (providing comparative perspectives on global issues); an international experience (study abroad, international internship or co-op); a foreign language requirement; and a senior capstone course. Students benefit from experiential learning through Northeastern's signature co-op program in globally relevant organizations. Graduates pursue careers in nonprofits, NGOs, government, media, research, and more.
