The Bachelor of Nutrition Science at the University of Wollongong equips students with a strong grounding in nutrition science, food chemistry, biochemistry, metabolism, and nutrition research. Students learn the impact of food on health, techniques in public health nutrition, and food policy. The program prepares graduates for careers in nutrition-related industries and forms the academic foundation for progressing to the Master of Nutrition and Dietetics, which is required for the credential of Accredited Practising Dietitian. After graduation and receiving three years of relevant work experience, graduates can register as nutrition scientists with the Nutrition Society of Australia. The curriculum includes biochemistry, physiology, human structure and function, concepts in food and nutrition, and nutrition education in the community.
