The Master of Audiology at the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, University of Auckland, is a 2-year, research-based graduate programme preparing students to become clinical audiologists in New Zealand. The curriculum combines core courses—such as auditory neuroscience, diagnostic audiology, clinical otolaryngology, hearing aids, and acoustics—with clinical practicum and a research thesis. Graduates are eligible for supervised clinical practice leading to the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the New Zealand Audiological Society (NZAS), required for independent practice. Entry is competitive and limited to 24 students per year; selection is based on academic merit and performance in Multi Mini Interviews. Applicants must hold a relevant bachelor's degree (e.g., health sciences, public health, science) and meet GPA requirements (minimum 5.0 at Auckland; similar at other institutions). Demonstrated background in physiology or psychology is advantageous. International students require excellent English proficiency (IELTS 7.5+ overall, no band below 7.0; TOEFL iBT 106+). The program is delivered at the Grafton Campus in Auckland and runs from March 3, 2025 to February 2027.
