The Master of Biomedical Science at the University of Auckland is designed for high-achieving science or clinical graduates (such as MBChB holders) seeking advanced training in biomedical research and translational science. Students work on independent research projects—with a compulsory written thesis—that advance knowledge in human health, diagnosis, and treatment of disease. The programme offers the opportunity for research in the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, including specialist labs and facilities at the Liggins Institute. Recent initiatives involve cutting-edge areas such as artificial intelligence in healthcare and brain research.
