The Master of Applied Finance (MAppFin) at the University of Auckland Business School is a 15-month, 180-point professional conversion master's program designed for graduates (excluding Finance majors) and mid-career professionals without a finance qualification. The curriculum provides a robust foundation in financial theory, practical analytical skills, and industry-based learning—culminating in a real-world consultancy project. The program covers corporate finance, investment management, banking, financial consulting, financial analytics, and sustainable finance (from 2025). Students benefit from expert faculty with industry experience, a purpose-built financial trading room, and strong support for professional development. The University is part of the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program, positioning MAppFin graduates well for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) charter.
