The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) [BE(Hons)] at the University of Auckland is a four-year undergraduate degree that blends rigorous theoretical studies with practical and professional work requirements. Students start with a common first year that introduces all engineering specialisations, developing core engineering and professional skills. After the first year, students select one of eleven available specialisations. The programme is accredited under the Washington Accord, making it internationally recognised, and includes requirements for a 40-hour workshop practice and 800 hours of practical work experience, preparing graduates for careers as professional engineers and providing a pathway to Chartered status. Robust support services and active student communities aid academic and personal development. Classes are held at the City Campus, with intakes in March and July 2025.
