The Bachelor of Science (Biomedical Science) at The University of Auckland provides rigorous scientific training focused on the human body's biological processes, health, and disease. Taught jointly by the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, the program covers a core curriculum in the first year—including cellular biology, chemistry, population health, and biochemistry—with the opportunity to specialise through one of nine advanced pathways in years two and three. In the final year, students complete a capstone project addressing real-world biomedical challenges. This program is both a direct pathway into careers in biomedical research, biotechnology, health industries, and a potential first step toward graduate entry to Medicine, Optometry, Pharmacy, or Medical Imaging.
