The Bachelor of Science (Physics) at the University of Auckland Faculty of Science is a 3-year STEM undergraduate program covering core topics such as matter, energy, force, and the laws of nature. The curriculum explores a broad range of subjects including acoustics, astronomy, electronics, fibre optics, lasers, nuclear physics, and quantum mechanics. Students can follow general or specialized pathways including Medical Physics and Imaging Technology, or Photonics, and complete a capstone project (PHYSICS 399) in their final year, applying experimental, observational, and computational methodologies to real-world problems. The program prepares students for careers in research, industry, teaching, engineering, and further study at honours or postgraduate levels.
