The Master of Science in Plant Science and Technology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison’s College of Agricultural and Life Sciences is an advanced interdisciplinary graduate program offered by the Department of Plant and Agroecosystem Sciences (PAS). Launched for Fall 2025, it integrates the former Agronomy and Horticulture departments, emphasizing scientific and technological expertise needed in modern, sustainable agriculture and global crop systems. The curriculum covers plant biology from molecular and cellular processes to ecosystems, with training in cutting-edge tools—such as precision agriculture, physiology, genetics, pest and weed management. Students gain hands-on skills through research, laboratory, greenhouse, and field experiences. Graduates are prepared for careers in research, teaching, extension, industry, and consulting, as well as for further PhD study.
