The Part-Time MSW at the University of Wisconsin–Madison's Sandra Rosenbaum School of Social Work offers working professionals and recent graduates a flexible, hybrid education—combining in-person Saturday sessions (every other week) with online coursework. The curriculum is identical to the full-time program, using an advanced generalist framework and offering personalized focus in either Child, Youth, and Family Welfare or Mental Health. The program includes hands-on field placements, supports licensure in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Illinois, and is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). It is tailored for those seeking a new career or advancement in social work leadership roles. Students are admitted each fall, and the tuition is $800 per credit (49 credits minimum). Admission requires a bachelor’s degree (BSW recommended for advanced standing) and a minimum 3.0 undergraduate GPA. Note: Admissions will be suspended as of Spring 2026 and the program is set to be discontinued in Fall 2029.
