The Psychoactive Pharmaceutical Investigation (PPI) MS at the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Pharmacy is a pioneering, interdisciplinary graduate degree delivered fully online. It is designed to train students in the discovery, development, and clinical application of psychoactive substances—such as psychedelics, cannabinoids, and other entheogens—for therapeutic use in neuropsychiatric conditions. The curriculum includes pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, pharmacokinetics, biostatistics, and humanities courses addressing the history, law, equity, and societal impact of psychoactive drugs. The program prepares graduates for leadership roles in the pharmaceutical, academic, government, nonprofit, and healthcare sectors, offering essential knowledge for navigating complex scientific, regulatory, and ethical frameworks.
