The Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences Communication (LSC) at the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, University of Wisconsin-Madison, is a leading science communication major that combines communication theory, science, and real-world applications. Students learn to analyze and communicate complex scientific issues in fields such as the environment, health, agriculture, and technology. Training includes multimedia communication (print, audio, video, web); writing for news and marketing; strategic communication; and digital media skills. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for diverse careers in industries like healthcare, biotechnology, media, agriculture, and information technology, or for graduate study in science-related fields. The program emphasizes real-world projects with clients, professional skills, and the ability to reach diverse audiences. NOTE: Students can earn the B.S. in Life Sciences Communication through Summer 2027. Beginning Fall 2027, the major is renamed Bachelor of Science in Science Communication.
