The Bachelor of Science in Textiles & Fashion Design program at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, School of Human Ecology, offers an integrative curriculum merging artistic design, material science, and business/retailing. The program emphasizes hands-on studio work in weaving, dyeing, printing, patternmaking, illustration, and both historical and contemporary design. It encourages creative problem-solving, innovation, and sustainable practices, preparing students for careers in fashion, textiles, and related industries. Students may specialize in apparel or textiles and have the option to complete their senior year at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. International experience, annual fashion shows, and industry engagement are core program components.
