The Texas Principal Leadership Academy (TPLA) at The University of Texas at Austin is a 12-month, full-time Master of Education (M.Ed.) program designed to prepare graduates to take the Principal as Instructional Leader EC-12 exam and become equity-centered, data-savvy, and culturally responsive leaders in Texas public schools. The curriculum emphasizes social justice, equity, and excellence for all children. First-time exam pass rates are typically around 97%, and the program has a strong employment track record in principal and assistant principal roles within three years of graduation. Students begin with the first summer session and benefit from partnerships with districts, hands-on learning, and mentorship.
