The Master of National Security at the LBJ School of Public Affairs, University of Texas at Austin, prepares students to lead and innovate across national security domains. Launching its first cohort in Fall 2026 (applications from September 1, 2025), the program is designed for recent graduates, professionals, military members, and veterans. The curriculum addresses evolving threats—rising powers, cyber warfare, AI, misinformation—equipping students with analytical, strategic, and policy skills for careers in intelligence, defense, cybersecurity, emerging technology policy, and global security. The Austin location provides direct access to defense innovation labs and policy hubs. Coursework features real-world simulations, interdisciplinary research, and instruction by former national security leaders including Admiral William H. McRaven.
