The Bachelor of Architecture / Plan II Honors dual degree at The University of Texas at Austin is a rigorous and intensive program combining a professional education in architecture with one of the most prestigious honors liberal arts curricula in the U.S. The program is jointly sponsored by the School of Architecture and the College of Liberal Arts’ Plan II Honors Program. Students receive a broad-based and interdisciplinary education in the arts and sciences while simultaneously completing the accredited requirements for architectural licensure. The curriculum encompasses design studios, architectural theory, history, technical coursework, and the distinctive Plan II core including humanities, sciences, math, and interdisciplinary seminars. Students must complete at least 186 hours of coursework, typically over 5 years with summer enrollments required. The program is highly selective and prepares students for leadership in architecture or any field where critical thinking, design, and broad intellectual skills are required.
