The Master of Science in Neuroscience at Yale University is offered through the Interdepartmental Neuroscience Program (INP) within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Division of Science. The program provides flexible, interdisciplinary training, ensuring a solid understanding of foundational and specialized neuroscience. Students gain expertise in broad themes such as cellular/molecular neurobiology, biophysics, neurodevelopment, systems neuroscience, behavior, and computational neuroscience. MS degrees are typically awarded to PhD students not continuing in the PhD program who have completed all core coursework, lab rotations, elective and quantitative courses, and qualifying exams, omitting only thesis prospectus and defense. The INP draws upon over 135 faculty across 20+ departments and emphasizes diversity, research breadth, and community engagement. Direct admission to a terminal MS is not available.
