The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Primary Care (PNP-PC) specialty at Yale School of Nursing prepares advanced practice nurses to deliver primary care for infants, children, and adolescents within the context of family and community. The curriculum is built on evidence-based research, emphasizes interprofessional learning and health across care systems, and features over 500 hours of clinical training. Graduates are eligible for the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board Exam, with Yale reporting a consistent 100% first-time pass rate. The program supports both direct entry (for non-nurses via GEPN), registered nurses, and post-master’s students, offering flexible full-time or part-time study. Students can further enhance their education by selecting concentrations such as Diabetes Care, Oncology, Gender and Sexuality Health Justice, and Research. Clinical experiences are diverse, and coursework integrates didactic, core, and specialty pediatric content.
