Yale University's Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEB), within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, offers both B.A. and B.S. degrees. The program provides comprehensive training in biological sciences, covering molecules, cells, organs, organisms, ecosystems, and evolutionary processes. The B.A. track is designed for students interested in ecology, evolution, and organismal diversity as part of a broad liberal education; the B.S. track is for students aiming for graduate/professional studies in biology, medicine, veterinary science, or environmental science. After shared prerequisites in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics, students choose from two tracks—'Biodiversity and the Environment' (foundational for ecology/environmental science careers) or 'Organismal Biology' (aligns with medical/veterinary preparation). The curriculum offers opportunities for laboratory and field research, and studying abroad is encouraged. EEB majors can participate in independent research and must complete senior requirements: an essay for the B.A., senior research for the B.S.
