The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) program in Statistics and Data Science at Yale acquaints students with the fundamental techniques and concepts in statistics and data science. The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) program is designed for students seeking more rigorous preparation, including research efforts or graduate study in the field. The curriculum covers core probability and statistics, computational skills, mathematical foundations, data science methods, big data computation, and interdisciplinary applications. For the B.A., students must complete 11 term courses beyond prerequisites, including a senior project; for the B.S., students complete 14 term courses with additional advanced electives and requirements. Both programs require calculus and linear algebra prerequisites, and culminate with a senior project (S&DS 4910 or 4920).
