The Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at Yale University, offered through the Division of Science (in FAS), is a rigorous undergraduate program designed to provide deep analytic, quantitative, and abstract reasoning skills. Students complete foundational courses in linear algebra, real analysis, and multivariable calculus, then advance to higher-level subjects such as abstract algebra, complex analysis, and functional analysis. The B.S. track requires significant breadth and depth in mathematics, including science course requirements outside pure mathematics, designed for those planning careers or further study in mathematics, physical sciences, engineering, finance, or related quantitative fields. Undergraduate students are encouraged to pursue research and may enroll in graduate-level courses to fulfill advanced requirements.
