Berkeley’s Master of Architecture (MArch) is a rigorous professional program designed for those seeking their first accredited degree in architecture. The program centers around design studios—complemented by courses in building science, sustainability, history, theory, and society—and immerses students in an environment fostering innovation, collaboration, and social responsibility. Students may select either a two-year or three-year curriculum track, based on prior academic background. The MArch degree is NAAB-accredited, permitting graduates to pursue architectural licensure in the United States. The curriculum culminates in a directed thesis project, and graduates are prepared for both professional practice and leadership roles in architecture and related fields.
