The Master of Public Policy (MPP) at the Goldman School of Public Policy, University of California, Berkeley, is a two-year, full-time, in-person, STEM-designated program focused on the practical and applied dimensions of policy-making and implementation. The curriculum consists of a core suite of courses, a summer policy internship after the first year, a capstone policy analysis project in the second year, and electives from both GSPP and broader UC Berkeley. The program provides rigorous training in economic analysis, quantitative methods, program evaluation, understanding political institutions, and legal aspects of public policy. Graduates are equipped for leadership in government, non-profit, advocacy, and private sector organizations, tackling issues such as poverty, education, racial inequality, criminal justice, and climate change. The program emphasizes teamwork, close faculty-student interaction, and professional development.
