The Master of Social Welfare (MSW) at UC Berkeley's School of Social Welfare is a two-year, full-time, on-campus graduate program. The curriculum prepares multi-level practitioners with training in evidence-informed practice, anti-oppressive and anti-racist approaches, and social justice advocacy. Students complete generalist and advanced social work coursework and undertake two years of practicum education through supervised agency-based field placements. The program covers generalist practice, advanced electives, social research methods, and intensive practicum experiences to prepare graduates for leadership and advanced practice roles in social welfare and related fields. The MSW program is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
