The Bachelor of Arts in Public Health at UC Berkeley is an interdisciplinary undergraduate program that prepares students to improve human health through the development and application of knowledge that prevents disease, protects communities, and promotes health on local, national, and global scales. The program provides a strong foundation in the core concepts of public health—biostatistics, epidemiology, environmental health, community health, and health policy—while encouraging critical thinking about human rights, equity, and multicultural perspectives. Students complete lower division courses, a set of five foundational core courses, electives, and a capstone course, culminating in a multidisciplinary education that enables graduates to pursue careers or advanced studies in various public health domains.
