UCLA’s School of Education & Information Studies (Ed&IS) offers the M.A. in Education with a specialization in Social Research Methodology (SRM). The division focuses on the study and practice of methods of inquiry in educational and social research, emphasizing problem conceptualization, research and evaluation design and conduct, development and application of new methodological techniques, and data analysis and interpretation in the context of educational theory and practice. Faculty expertise and student training span three broad emphasis areas—quantitative methods, qualitative methods, and applied methods/program evaluation.
