UCLA School of Education & Information Studies’ Principal Leadership Institute (PLI) prepares outstanding educators to become social justice–driven leaders for urban schools. The cohort-based program is housed in Center X and is aligned with the California Administrative Professional Expectations (CAPEs). Over an intensive 14-month sequence, candidates complete the M.Ed. and the required coursework for the California Preliminary Administrative Services Credential, developing capacities to improve teaching and learning, create culturally responsive and democratic school environments, advance equitable student achievement, and build partnerships with parents and community organizations.
