UCLA Samueli’s Aerospace Engineering M.S. provides broad knowledge across the major technical areas needed by the aerospace industry, including aerodynamics/CFD, propulsion, systems & control, and structures & dynamics. Coursework spans fundamental and advanced topics such as compressible flow, viscous/turbulent flows, computational aerodynamics and CFD, aircraft and rocket propulsion, digital control and learning of physical systems, linear/optimal control, aerospace structures design, dynamics of structures, and stochastic processes in dynamical systems. The degree requires a minimum of nine courses (36 units). Students may complete the program under a thesis plan or a capstone/comprehensive exam plan per Graduate Division requirements; online students in the MSOL Aerospace area complete 36 units with at least five 200‑level courses and a comprehensive exam.
