UCLA Samueli’s professional MEng is a 1‑year, cohort-based degree that blends a 5‑course interdisciplinary technology concentration with 3 engineering professional development courses and a team capstone. While the current published areas include tracks such as Green Energy Systems—covering energy generation (fuel cells, solar and other renewables), energy storage (batteries, supercapacitors, large‑scale storage), smart grids/grid integration, and energy–environment topics—the program framework is designed to address sustainable and environmental engineering challenges by integrating technical coursework with management, systems, and communication training. According to the MEng overview and FAQ, students complete 36 quarter units across the concentration, professional development, and capstone; tuition is charged per unit with a published program tuition figure and campus fees applicable. Note: The FAQ lists current official areas as including Green Energy Systems; civil/environmental is not yet a separate MEng focus but sustainability and environment topics are addressed through Green Energy Systems and related interdisciplinary offerings.
