UCLA Joe C. Wen School of Nursing offers a traditional four-year prelicensure BS program admitting First-Year students annually and a limited number of junior-level transfers. Graduates are eligible for the NCLEX-RN licensure exam and may apply for the California Public Health Nursing Certificate. The major is a UCLA-certified capstone program with a clinically based scholarly project in the fourth year. The curriculum spans prevention across primary, secondary, and tertiary levels, with strong emphasis on clinical leadership and critical thinking, covering pharmacology, fundamentals, mental health, medical-surgical, geriatric, maternity, pediatrics, public health, and leadership/internship courses; total required units range from 180 to 216.
