UCLA’s Biology B.S. is a broad-based biological sciences major designed for students seeking flexible preparation across subfields and pursuing careers or graduate/professional study in diverse biological and health-related areas. Foundational lower-division coursework is shared across Life Sciences majors through coordinated Life Sciences Core education, with multiple approved curriculum pathways (Biology First Path, Biology Exploration Path, Chemistry Early Path, Physics Early Path) leading to the same degree outcomes. The Biology major is hosted by the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology within the Division of Life Sciences.
