Studying History at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) College of Liberal Arts & Sciences prepares students for engaged participation in public life and a diverse set of careers, such as law, government, public policy, teaching, media, business, public relations, and more. The program emphasizes the ability to conduct original historical research, critical thinking, evaluation of evidence, contextual analysis, and communication skills. Students must complete a fourth-level language other than English, a blend of introductory and advanced history courses, and a senior research seminar.
