The Inclusion (Elementary Education/Special Education) program at Purdue University's College of Education prepares students to teach children in general education grades K-6 as well as in special education (mild to intense intervention) P-12. Graduates are equipped to support all learners across a range of educational placements and collaborate with educational professionals to meet diverse student needs. The curriculum provides foundational knowledge, evidence-based practices, and specialized skills—including developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), implementing instructional modifications, and engaging in data-driven decision-making—for teaching students with disabilities. The program is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and the State of Indiana, State Board of Education, and meets all relevant state licensing standards.
