The Inclusion (Elementary Education/Special Education) program at Purdue University's College of Education prepares students to teach children in general education grades K-6 as well as in special education (mild to intense intervention) P-12. Graduates are equipped to support all learners across a range of educational placements and collaborate with educational professionals to meet diverse student needs. The curriculum provides foundational knowledge, evidence-based practices, and specialized skills—including developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), implementing instructional modifications, and engaging in data-driven decision-making—for teaching students with disabilities.
