The English Education, BA at Purdue University's College of Education is a comprehensive, state- and nationally-aligned teacher preparation program designed for students who wish to teach English language arts at the secondary (grades 5–12) level. The curriculum covers extensive coursework in literature, writing, and language (broader than non-teaching English degrees), as well as five content-specific methods courses on teaching aspects of English. Each semester includes field experiences in local secondary schools, culminating with a full semester of student teaching.
