The Master of Historic Preservation (MHP) at the College of Design, Construction and Planning, University of Florida, is Florida's only interdisciplinary program of its kind. Students study advanced theories and methodologies in historic preservation, integrating topics across heritage, cultural landscapes, neighborhood preservation, materials and building technologies, and sustainable practice. The curriculum prepares graduates to address complex preservation challenges through research, fieldwork, legal and economic considerations, and stewardship projects. Students may participate in hands-on programs in Nantucket, MA, or St. Augustine, FL, and develop skills applicable in both tangible and intangible aspects of heritage conservation. The program is open to students holding a bachelor’s degree in any discipline, and is designed to foster real-world solutions and careers in historic preservation, conservation, or heritage management.
