The MS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Florida College of Medicine is a thesis-based program designed to equip students with core skills for careers in academic, private, or government biomedical research, as well as preparation for advanced study in PhD or other professional school programs (MD, DVM, DDS, etc.). The program consists of at least 30 credits, with a minimum of 12 credits in formal graduate coursework and at least 18 credits of research-based coursework. Students conduct research under the mentorship of a faculty member, culminating in a written thesis and a public defense.
