The Bachelor of Science in Forest Resources and Conservation at the University of Florida’s College of Agricultural and Life Sciences prepares students to sustainably manage forests to meet ecological, economic, and social objectives. The program emphasizes hands-on field experience and covers topics such as ecosystem management, wildlife management, forest health, tree biology, forest ecology, resource economics, inventory methods, and policy. Graduates can work in land management, timber management, habitat restoration, recreation management, law and policy, and related areas. The curriculum is broad and provides options for certificates such as Fire Ecology & Management, Urban Forestry, and Environmental Policy. The major is accredited by the Society of American Foresters.
