The Bachelor of Arts in Education (Elementary Education) program at the University of Florida College of Education is a comprehensive, state- and CAEP-approved undergraduate degree designed to prepare students for professional certification as elementary school teachers (grades K–6) in Florida. The program combines academic coursework with extensive hands-on practicum and internship experiences in K–6 classrooms, mentored by experienced educators. Graduates are eligible for Florida Professional Teacher Certification in Elementary K-6 and endorsements in Reading and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). The curriculum prioritizes real-world training, mentoring, and preparing culturally and linguistically responsive teachers to meet Florida’s educational needs. In 2025, a new online delivery option was launched, allowing greater flexibility for students across the state.
