The Master of Science (MS) in Applied Health Sciences Informatics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is designed for students seeking practical competencies in the application of informatics across clinical, public health, and health systems environments. The program combines coursework in health informatics, public health, computer science, and biomedical data science, developing graduates able to design, implement, and lead innovations in healthcare technology, data systems, and organizational information strategies. The program is offered in two formats: an onsite full-time option lasting one year and a part-time online option over 1–3 years. The curriculum includes core courses in biomedical informatics, health information systems, and clinical research, as well as leadership training in health IT. Students complete a practicum or related hands-on project to demonstrate applied skills.
